Mortgage Lending

Mortgage lending is a core practice area at Hatch Jacobs LLC. The firm is always involved in complex financing including the negotiation, documentation, and closing of mortgage loans on behalf of many lending institutions. The financing transactions range from a few hundred thousand dollars to hundreds of millions of dollars. Many of those transactions involve complex and multi-state collateral packages. We also assist with the foreclosure and enforcement of all types of liens and mortgage instruments. Those efforts often involve collection litigation, title disputes, and bankruptcy proceedings. Loan work-outs and restructure are also emphasized in an effort to expedite prompt resolutions.

Real Estate Development

With its many real estate clients, Hatch Jacobs LLC often involves itself in the annexation, subdivision and platting of real property. In this process, attention is paid to easements, boundary disputes, access and utilities. We have appeared before city councils and dealt with counties and planning commissions to maximize the value and utility of our clients' real estate holdings.

Foreclosures

Hatch Jacobs LLC has assisted in the foreclosure of all types of liens, mortgages and deeds of trust. Those actions have involved both judicial as well as public trustee foreclosures. The firm has also facilitated loan work-outs and deeds-in-lieu of foreclosure.

Business and Commercial Litigation

Hatch Jacobs LLC is heavily involved in sophisticated litigation on behalf of its clients involving many aspects of business and commercial law. At this time, the primary commercial litigation of the firm involves disputes between lenders and borrowers, real estate disputes (from landlord/tenant relations to title disputes), mechanic lien enforcement, employer/employee disputes, contract litigation and collection matters.

Leasing and Lease Enforcement

Hatch Jacobs LLC draws on extensive landlord/tenant experience. It has negotiated complex leasing arrangements of all varieties including, office, retail, industrial, mixed-use, apartment and mobile home communities. Typically, the firm represents the landlord in those matters, always keeping our focus on our clients’ desire for an efficient and expeditious resolution.

Employment Law

The firm represents primarily employers in employment law matters, including claims of discrimination, harassment and wrongful termination, both prior to and during litigation.

Mechanic Lien and Construction Defect Litigation

The firm regularly represents clients in litigation concerning construction related disputes. Typically, those disputes involve mechanic liens and construction defects. Although those disputes often are complex and involve many parties, the firm is proud of its ability to quickly and efficiently achieve favorable results.
